The Ned hotel, private members' club and restaurants, a joint venture between Soho House and The US hotel Sydell group, is set to open late April this year in London's EC2.
The new scheme has taken over an iconic building designed by Sir Edwin 'Ned' Lutyens, hence the name used for the venture, which the headquarters for Midland Bank.
The 320,000 sq ft venue will offer 252 bedrooms (completed bedroom pictured), nine restaurants, rooftop and indoor swimming pools, a gym, Cowshed spa and hamam (steam bath).
The private members' club will be situated in the basement. Ned's Club will occupy the building's old vault which still features the original stainless steel, engraved safety deposit boxes. The bar here will serve up classic cocktails and food from Cecconi’s restaurant.
On the top floor for members, there will be the Canopy Bar & Restaurants, complete with a retractable roof. It will also feature two bars - Poultry Dome Bar & Terrace and Princes Street Dome Bar & Terrace.
Of the nine restaurants, eight will be open to the public. They are as follows:
The Penny - an American cafe serving salads, burgers, hot sandwiches and apple pie
Millie's Lounge - British and American classics, 24 hours a day - fish & chips, lobster, macaroni and BBQ short ribs
Cafe Sou London - Traditional Parisian cafe specialising in crustacea, French classics and daily specials
The Grill Room - A British hotel grill with trolleys and gueridon service
Cecconi's City of London - Modern day classic Italian
Zobler's - New York-style Jewish deli with smoked fish, herrings, Reubens and cheesecake, to eat in or take away.
