The Co-op is to serve up a new-look food store in Tarvin, Chester next Thursday, 14 February, following a major investment to better serve the community.
The store, located in Bypass Road, relaunches following a £400k makeover and includes a Costa coffee dispenser, in-store bakery, hot food and customer car parking, alongside its increased focus on fresh, healthy foods, a new health and well-being range, award winning wines, meal ideas and, essentials.
The store – which provides 18 full and part time local jobs – is also recruiting for at least two new positions, a customer team member and team leader. Applicants with a passion for food, customer service and community can find out more in store.
Peter Baumber, Store Manager – who has worked for the Co-op for 20 years, said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to make such a significant investment in Tarvin. The store has a great new-look and range to better serve the needs of our local community and, those passing through.

The new-look Co-op brings a funding boost for local causes through the Co-op’s Membership scheme – Members receive 5% reward when they swipe their Membership card when buying own brand products, with the Co-op donating a further 1% to local causes which currently include: the Tarvin Community Centre; Duddon St Peter’s Primary School PTA and, Tarvin Nursery and Pre-School.
Students holding the NUS extra (TOTUM) card receive a 10% discount off their groceries at the Co-op to support them during their studies.
