16th century West Sussex pub seeks new leaseholder

Christie & Co has brought to the market the Three Crowns, a traditional, Grade II listed country pub in the village of Wisborough Green, near Petworth and Billinsghurst in West Sussex.

The 16th century pub comprises an open plan bar and restaurant for 80 covers with a central bar. There is also a commercial kitchen with extraction, separate wash up area, office, beer cellar, walk in fridge, and ancillary storage areas.

The pub also provides owner’s accommodation, which is situated on the first floor and offers four bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room and kitchen.

Externally, there is a large beer garden which offers decked seating for up to 200 covers.

Situated approximately 17 miles from Guildford and 20 miles from Chichester, the Three Crowns is also ideally located to benefit from visitors to the South Downs National Park.

The previous tenants developed a very successful business focusing on the pub’s reputation for quality food and drink, providing an opportunity for the new tenants to continue to build upon.

Richard Wood, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co who is handling the sale, said, “The Three Crowns presents a rare opportunity to acquire a free of tie lease of a high turnover business with a strong reputation and roadside presence. We anticipate strong interest in the pub and advise viewing at the earliest opportunity.”

Christie & Co is seeking a Nil Premium for the leasehold interest of the Three Crowns.
