Second Firebrand Pizza to open with new concept attached

Independent pizza specialists, Firebrand Pizza is set to launch its second restaurant, following the success of its debut in Marylebone.

The 4,500 sq ft site in Clerkenwell was secured by Shelley Sandzer, and will open in autumn 2019.

The authentic Italian eatery launched in 2016, serving up wood-fired pizzas made from a 72-hour sourdough and fresh pasta dishes, using traditional and fresh ingredients such as caputo flour from Naples and san Marzano tomatoes. The new restaurant will feature a sophisticated interior, with its wood-fired oven the centrepiece.

A new cafe-bar concept called Diggs will sit next door, offering pastries and cereals in the morning and a selection of salads for lunch, before changing into a bar serving wines, cocktails, and beers in the evening.

Guy Holmes, Owner of Firebrand Pizza, commented, “Firebrand’s authentic Italian fare has been warmly received at our debut restaurant in Marylebone, and we are ready to develop the brand, incorporating Diggs – our innovative new café / bar concept.

'We tasked Shelley Sandzer with finding a visible and high footfall location in a vibrant part of London, and are delighted with this site in Clerkenwell.”

Etai Page, leasing agent at Shelley Sandzer, said, “Firebrand Pizza has a strong background in tradition, in technique and ingredients used, which we know will make them hugely popular at the new restaurant.

'Our expertise in this market space has helped them advance the concept, with a larger site at a prominent junction in Clerkenwell, where their offer will attract families and local workers.”
