Today, livery firm, the Mercers’ Company has announced that leading seafood specialists, Wright Brothers, has signed for its latest London restaurant at 1 Frederick’s Place, bringing its world-class seafood to the heart of the City.

Founded by brothers-in-law Ben Wright and Robin Hancock, Wright Brothers has secured its 6,000 sq ft restaurant on the ground and basement levels of the grade II-listed building at Frederick’s Place; the site also contains 17,000 sq ft of prime office space which the Mercers’ Company has recently let to asset management consultancy, MJ Hudson.

Designed by Macaulay Sinclair, the venue will be the operator’s newest restaurant to date featuring a shellfish display and bar and a private dining room, joining the business’ five-strong portfolio across Borough, Soho, Spitalfields, South Kensington, and Battersea. Wright Brothers is due open this Summer.

Renowned for serving the very best and freshest seafood, Wright Brothers menu is synonymous with the founders’ passion of serving dishes from sea to plate; sourcing all seafood from their own wholesale business and fisheries across the UK.

Robin Hancock, Co-Founder, Wright Brothers, commented on the new London location, “With iconic landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral and the Bank of England on our doorstep, Frederick’s Place is an ideal location for expanding our restaurant offer within the City.

'Since launching our original restaurant 15 years ago in Borough Market, we have continued to grow our brand and now look forward to revealing our sixth restaurant in London.”

Simon Taylor, Property Director at the Mercers’ Company, added, “Known for their refreshing take on seafood and their growing customer base, Wright Brothers is the ideal occupier for the prime restaurant space at Frederick’s Place.

'Investing in our property portfolio to regenerate pockets of London has been our main focus, with Frederick’s Place at the forefront of this strategy; this specialist restaurant signing alongside recent news of MJ Hudson moving into 1-3 Frederick’s Place, will create a buzzing community hub in the heart of the City.”
