MasterChef winner set to open two new concepts

Kenny Tutt, 2018 MasterChef champion and co-founder of Pitch restaurant and cookery school in Worthing, is launching two new ventures on the Sussex coast.

Tutt's first Brighton venture, Ox Block will sit within the coastal town's first food hall, the recently refurbished Shelter Hall.

Ox Block will be a smoking robata grill kitchen offering bacon baps, steak sandwiches with 40-day aged sirloin and beer-braised onions. The only dessert will be a Caramel ice cream with deep fried Oreos.

Ox Block will open for outdoor dining on 26 April and for indoor dining on 17 May.

Next, Tutt will be launching Bayside Social in a new luxury development on Worthing seafront this July.

Inspired by modern beach clubs on Miami's South Beach, the 40-cover, glass-fronted eatery will offer beach views and a terrace. It will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, as well as takeaway, events and private dining.

The menu will include: South coast seafood fish fry with cuttlefish, cockles & anchovies with roast garlic aioli; Golden Cross goats' cheese croquettes with South Downs honey; and grilled Carver chicken thigh, white cabbage lime slaw & jalapeño green goddess sauce.

Tutt commented, 'My favourite thing about food and cooking is the way that it brings people together, so opening up two new spaces that allow people to do that in different ways is extremely exciting.

'The last year has been a challenge of course, but it's also given me time to dedicate to these projects and really decide on next steps following on from the huge success of Pitch thanks to the support of our amazing customers and our team.

'I can't wait to fling open the doors this summer, welcome customers back and show them what we've been up to. We all need it!'

Tutt launched his debut restaurant Pitch alongside his wife Lucy in 2019, which has become a popular staple of Worthing's food scene,
