The Garden Cider Company expands Doorstep Drop

Sustainable cider maker, The Garden Cider Company has announced it is expanding its Doorstep Drop initiative to include local vineyards and distillers.

2020 was a challenging year for many cider producers in the UK, with the on-trade all but closed for the majority of the year. However, The Garden Cider Company did not rest on its laurels and ‘The Garden Cider Doorstep Drop’ delivery service was launched.

Offering a range of cider and beer more than quadrupled online orders. Working with Pilgrim Brewery, Crafty Brewing Co., Langham Brewery and Twickenham Fine Ales, this new venture meant that The Garden Cider Company was able to deliver a fantastic range of drinks direct to its customers.

The company has now announced it will be expanding the Doorstep Drop to include local vineyards and distillers. This wide range of drinks will be available to order online and will be delivered straight to your front door.

Co-founder Ben Filby said, “Last year was remarkably challenging for everyone in our industry. However, we did not want to let our customers down and wanted to offer them something a bit different. We are fortunate to be surrounded by so many fantastic drink producers in Surrey, and we know that we all share a similar customer base, so the idea for the Doorstep Drop was born.

'It has been brilliant to work with the breweries and it has been humbling to witness how we have all rallied and supported each other. It is now a natural step to include vineyards and distilleries and we are looking forward to working with many more in the near future.”

Last year, the company has also experienced success in its export territories, most recently shipping 5000 litres of cider to Russia.

This business success, against the unprecedented commercial backdrop of the pandemic, has meant that The Garden Cider Company is looking for investment to expand the business further.

Filby continued, “With additional investment, the company is poised to emerge into a new trading landscape in the strongest and most adaptable way. We are exploring diversifying our range with products that complement our existing range of premium ciders. 2021 is an exciting year at The Garden Cider Company, and we are in a strong position.”
