Steve Groves appointed as Exec Chef at Glyndebourne

RA Venues has appointed Steve Groves to the position of Executive Chef at Glyndebourne, the iconic cultural opera house in the heart of the Sussex countryside, set to reopen this May.

Groves, from Brightlingsea Essex, was crowned MasterChef: The Professionals Winner in 2009 before joining the RA Group family with a position at Roux at Parliament Square in 2010, and subsequently became Executive Chef in 2013.

During his time there, Groves curated set and tasting menus which creating contemporary dishes with local produce inspired by the seasons.

Prior to joining RA Group, Groves worked at Launceston place and The Inn at Perry cabin in the United States. More recently, Steve won The Craft Guild of Chefs National Chef Of The Year in 2019. Steve’s food style is classical with a modern approach, finding inspiration all around; in a fantastic ingredient, a piece of artwork, a childhood memory or from the great people he’s worked with.

Groves will be taking on the role of Executive Chef at Glyndebourne overseeing all F&B including the Middle & Over Wallop fine-dining restaurant, Mildmay restaurant and Nether Wallop restaurant all of which champion seasonal produce from British suppliers.
