Bone Daddies to launch sixth site in Victoria’s Nova Food this month

Ross Shonhan, the man responsible for bringing ramen with rock ‘n’ roll to the forefront of the London restaurant scene, has today announced he will be opening a sixth Bone Daddies site.

Situated in the state-of-the-art Nova, Victoria development in SW1; the new site will open on Tuesday 16 January, offering Bone Daddies’ renowned ramen, alongside the exciting addition of maki rolls and a brand new katsu curry section.

The menu at Bone Daddies Nova will offer all the original ramen dishes, including the ever-popular T22 ramen, with the optional addition of the famed cock-scratchings, the classic Tonkotsu with its 20-hour pork bone broth, and the vegetarian Tantanmen ramen made with kara-age tofu and bok choy.

Alongside this, there will be the new addition of maki rolls, including Spicy Tuna Roll and Softshell Crab Roll, exclusive to Victoria. The site will also offer the Yuzu Margarita, the signature Bone Daddies cocktail, and a range of Japanese sake and whiskies.

The new restaurant will be split into two levels, seating 50 on ground floor, 40 upstairs and a further 28 outside. The Bone Daddies team worked with B3 designers, who created a space which highlights the group’s known and loved rock ‘n’ roll attitude and Japanese street-scene tone. A mixture of materials, textures and graphics were used, including raw metal work, smashed up tiles and rich toned timbers. Spray paint was used to accentuate the street-food vibe.

Nova Food brings 17 new restaurants, three pop-up kiosks, 700 al-fresco dining seats and a significant public realm to SW1, as part of the Nova, Victoria development. Nova, Victoria is Landsec’s newest destination offering world-class office space and high-quality apartments set across 897,000 sq. ft. and three buildings in the heart of Victoria - Nova North, Nova South and The Nova Building.

David Atcherley-Symes, Retail Leasing Director at Landsec, said, “We’re delighted to start the New Year by welcoming Bone Daddies to Nova Food. One of our priorities over the past five years has been to change what is happening at street level in a way that gets local businesses, residents and visitors excited about the experience of being in Victoria. We are now seeing that become a reality with the truly diverse mix of food concepts at Nova – continuing to convert Victoria into one of London’s most enticing neighbourhoods for dining from dawn to dusk.”

Since the group’s first opening on Soho’s Peter Street in 2012, Bone Daddies has become famed for its contemporary take on traditional Japanese food, with a specific focus on ramen. Using well sourced ingredients, Ross has brought complex flavours in comforting bowls of ramen to the masses with great success.

Subsequently, a further four Bone Daddies sites have opened in High Street Kensington, Bermondsey, Old Street and, most recently, St Christopher’s Place.

Each restaurant provides a distinctly different experience with an element of the menu made unique to each site. Ross has continued to offer food way ahead of the curve via his two offshoots, first in 2013 with the opening of Flesh & Buns in Covent Garden, which specialises in gua bao buns, followed by Shackfuyu on Old Compton Street in 2015, which offers ‘Yoshoku’ food - western-inspired Japanese dishes.
