The owners of a boutique Hampshire hotel are looking ahead to an exciting winter season as its multi-million-pound revamp project enters the next phase of its development.
Stanwell House, a privately owned boutique hotel situated in the centre of Lymington, is moving forward with its extensive multi-million-pound revamp project to transform the New Forest venue – with plans to open to the public this winter.
Boasting an upmarket redesign, whilst remaining true to its roots by retaining the Georgian style of the building, the newly refurbished hotel will provide a refreshing, modern twist to the picturesque Regency market town of Lymington.
The Hampshire hotel’s transformation extends throughout its interior, with a complete redesign of all the bedrooms alongside brand-new, en-suite bathrooms comprising rich colours and high-end products – providing guests with a luxurious yet comfortable stay.
Additional spaces for dining and entertaining have been reinvented, with the old bar transformed into a welcoming reception and the former bistro becoming home to an entirely new bar space. Having also repurposed part of the kitchen to extend the area, the space has been completely reimagined and now seats up to 50 guests.
The renovated settings now offer three unique dining experiences; guests can opt for luxury by treating themselves to the fine dining menu at the brand-new restaurant specialising in seafood, unwind in the bar, serving gastro pub food, made with fresh, local ingredients, or indulge in cocktails, Champagne and afternoon tea at the chic Orangery.
Overseeing the new kitchen redevelopment will be executive chef, Chris Wheeldon. With a wealth of culinary experience and knowledge, Chris will utilise his expertise to build and lead a team of like-minded individuals to elevate Stanwell House’s offering.
Alongside implementing brand-new facilities and updating the venue’s décor, the boutique hotel will provide the town with various employment opportunities, subsequently boosting the area’s local tourism and economy whilst putting Lymington on the map.
Lance Bartlett, general manager, commented, “The refurbishment so far has been nothing less than meticulous in order to ensure our boutique hotel is of the highest standard.
“Working with a Grade II-listed building like Stanwell House requires striking the right balance between creating a contemporary environment, whilst also being sympathetic to its character and history.”
He continued, “In addition, we have taken time and care to ensure that our plans are in keeping with the Georgian style of the building, as well as working with the local authority to obtain the necessary planning permission. We aim to not only improve the aesthetics of our hotel, but also widen our offerings to include welcome additions such as our new bar and events space.”
Lance concluded, “Ultimately, our main objective is to create a charming, welcoming and family-friendly space for locals and visitors alike to enjoy. Whilst our renovations are still on-going, we are excited to be able to share some of the amazing progress to give the general public a feel of what’s to come.”
