British Land is to submit plans for a 330,000 sq ft expansion of Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield next year.
Meadowhall, one of only six ‘super regional’ shopping centres in the UK, has 230 stores, an 11-screen cinema, restaurants and cafes in 1.4m sq ft of space. Over 25 million shoppers visit the complex each year.
The proposal comes on top of a £55m refurbishment of the shopping centre, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
