Islington shopping centre welcomes festive Jägerhaus Bar

Jägerhaus Bar festive pop-up has launched at Angel Central shopping centre in London's Islington.

The pop-up, run by German Events Ltd, is located on the central piazza and will run until December 23. The Bavarian-style solid wood cabins are decorated in a Black Forest theme with a fully furnished beer garden.

Providing an authentic German bar experience with a modern twist, The Jägerhaus offers an extensive European drinks menu including premium German beers, specially produced Hungarian wines from Eger, Hogan's mulled apple cider, and Belgium Strawberry beer alongside a selection of soft drinks.

As well as food stalls offering traditional bratwurst, krakauer and gulasch, there is live music to complement the venue and festive ambiance.

Matthew Barratt of CBRE Global Investors, which owns the centre, said, “The Jägerhaus Bar is an exciting food and drink pop-up that enhances our customer’s shopping experience over the festive period. Angel Central’s piazza is a busy thoroughfare between Upper Street and Liverpool Road, making it the perfect spot for a festive pop-up of this kind.

'We place a real focus on a comprehensive visitor experience and we are thrilled to offer something to our loyal local catchment that hasn’t featured in this area before.”

Sven Schmidt, Director of German Events Ltd, commented, 'In addition to our wide variety of traditional Christmas drinks, hungry shoppers can satiate their appetite with our popular traditional German food. The Jägerhaus team is on hand to ensure everyone enjoys themselves and embraces the festive spirit with us at Angel Central.'

Eliot Freeman, partner at German Events Ltd, added, ''We are excited to have launched our German themed pop-up bar at Angel Central Shopping Centre, in the heart of Islington.'

This follows the recent announcement that CBRE Global Investors has confirmed an investment of nearly £8m as part of a comprehensive refurbishment and phased development within Angel Central. Planning has been submitted for phase one of the improvements which are set to commence in January 2018.

The 150,000 sq ft Angel Central benefits from an annual footfall of 10 million visitors and is ranked in the top 10 of London Retail Destinations (CACI’s Retail Footprint 2016). Vue’s ten-screen cinema and the O2 Academy lead the leisure offer, which is complemented by a range of restaurants, such as Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Wagamama.
