Tattu secures two new sites in Birmingham & Edinburgh

Chinese restaurant group, Tattu has completed on two new sites in Birmingham and Edinburgh, marking the start of a significant period of growth for the independent company.

Tattu is a young, family-owned business founded in 2015 by brothers Adam and Drew Jones. The company opened its first site in May 2015 in Manchester’s commercial Spinningfields district, welcoming an average of 2,500 covers per week to its 190-cover, two-floor restaurant and private dining room.

The second site opened on East Parade in Leeds city centre in June 2017 with a 170-cover capacity across another split-level restaurant, private dining room and outdoor terrace.

The company will begin development of its third site in Birmingham in August 2018 – a 6,500 sq ft space set over ground floor and basement with a 150-cover capacity – located in the city’s prestigious Colmore Row district.

More recently the brand has signed a 20-year lease deal for its fourth site – a 4,680 sq ft space – in one of Edinburgh’s most exciting new developments, The Registers, due to open on St Andrew Square in late spring 2019.

Tattu offers contemporary Chinese cuisine at a premium level, fusing traditional flavours with modern cooking techniques and exquisite presentation to create a unique and innovative dining experience.

Diners are encouraged to embrace the traditional approach of sharing dishes with their guests, delivered by highly-trained front of house teams with a strong focus on a meticulous and engaging customer service.

Adam Jones, owner and managing director of Tattu Restaurants, said, “The last three years have been an incredible journey for us. Reaching four sites was never our initial plan, we simply set out to create something unique that offered customers a new dining experience built on quality and attention to detail.

'The current growth has been completely organic and driven by our customers’ investment in what we do. Our focus from day one has been to encourage self expression, that is what the brand was built on – a celebration of personality and the individual.

'Through this commitment and a constant drive to improve we have developed a passionate, innovative team with a dedication to the journey we are on. This shines through in each new menu we create and the way it is delivered to our guests.'

Jones continued, “We knew Tattu had a strong brand identity but we have been genuinely overwhelmed by the response from customers since the day we opened our doors. The company has gone from strength to strength thanks to a team of creative individuals and a diverse customer base that has identified with our concept.

“Completing on two new sites marks the start of an exciting period of growth for Tattu. Location is key for us, and as an independent business we have made a point of being rigorous in our approach to site location to ensure that each restaurant offers guests an unrivalled design aesthetic and dining experience. I am certain the next 12 months will be challenging, but we feel extremely privileged to be in such a strong position in what is a very competitive and evolving industry.”
