Whitbread to open two Cookhouse & Pub sites this summer


Whitbread has announced two new Cookhouse and Pub openings in St Columb, Cornwall and Northwich, Cheshire bringing the current portfolio to eight across the UK.

Both opened this month on former Brewer’s Fayre sites, after a successful trial of the brand in Oldbury, Holystone, Ripley and Kilmarnock. Two further Cookhouse and Pub’s opened in Premier Inn hotels in Bridlington and Rhyl earlier this year.

The brand, which won ‘New Pub & Restaurant Concept’ at this year’s Menu Innovation and Development Awards (MIDAS), aims to re-invent the pub dining experience, delivering the quality food and service of an informal, all-day casual restaurant, with the relaxed vibe and affordability of a pub.

The 218-cover St Columb site and 230-cover Northwich site have been developed by York/Leeds-based designers JMDA, and includes a bar area, with a range of flexible seating and solo-dining booths, feature tables and semi-private dining areas.

The menu comprises of freshly prepared grazers and oven fired flatbreads, as well as serving grills, lighter options and brunches, alongside a selection of pub classics, Sunday roasts and desserts. Cookhouse and Pub puts an emphasis on quality food at affordable prices featuring rotating specials as well as offer guests a range of craft beers, cask ales and ciders, alongside draught wines and cocktails on tap or by the carafe.
