13th Simmons Bar to open in Soho

Simmons Bars is expanding in Soho via CDG Leisure. The advisory firm secured a 3,000 sq ft site at 4 Golden Square to facilitate the bar group’s expansion.

This will be the bar’s third site in Soho after its recent acquisition in Poland Street and its Bateman Street bar.

Simmons, which has 12 sites across London, including Kings Cross and Temple, will offer its signature five-hour happy hour and £2.50 gin and tonics at this new location.

The move is in line with plans to grow the vibrant cocktail chain to 30 London venues by the end of 2020.

Simmons was founded in Kings Cross in 2012 and is led by entrepreneur Nick Campbell, who started working with the business that same year.

Campbell said, “CDG Leisure, who brokered the deal on our behalf, have secured a brilliant new site for our latest Simmons bar.

“Situated between Piccadilly Circus and Carnaby Street, the former Graphic site gives us the perfect opportunity to showcase our famous happy hour, quality cocktails and signature party atmosphere to a great new area of Central London.

“The new venue will be given the trademark Simmons treatment; with school desks, neon lamps and all sorts of other oddments as well as plans for a basement excavation and a brand new function room. We're looking forward to bringing the party to Golden Square.”

Sammy Weinbaum, director, CDG Leisure, said: “Golden Square is surrounded by excellent bars, restaurants and obviously a strong nightlife presence but Simmons has crafted out a niche in the market and is extremely popular wherever it goes.

“The group’s successful expansion is proving how active the bar sector is in a turbulent period for the food and beverage market”
