Simmons Bars to open 16th site this month

Fresh off the back of the hugely successful launches in Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus, Simmons is gearing up to open its next bar, Simmons Monument in The City. Located just a two minute walk from the station, this will be the group’s sixteenth location

The launch party on Thursday 12 September will establish Simmons Monument as the new go to destination in the Square Mile. Guests will be able to enjoy a complimentary bar between 6-8pm and lots of great entertainment including roller girls and fire artists.

Guests can expect all of the usual Simmons stylings but with an added hint of history as they have retained the heritage of the beautiful Grade II-listed building.

The bar is perfect for after work drinks as they open from 3pm every day and the award-winning happy hour lasts five hours from 4pm - 9pm.

There will also be DJs every Thursday and Friday night playing the best contemporary hits, 80s, 90s, funk, soul, hip hop and party bangers.

Simmons is never one to take itself too seriously and just a glance at the menu will confirm this. Presented in a school textbook, cocktails include the Disco Twist; Citrus Vodka, Disaronno, Peach Puree, Peach Schnapps and Pineapple Juice, served in a groovy little sling, Tamagotchi; Cointreu, Midori, Lemon Juice and garnished with a Tamagotchi you have to save and Paloma Picante; El Jimador Tequila, Fresh Pink Grapefruit juice, Agave Syrup, a squeeze of Lime and a dash of Tabasco.

The new site will also be serving a bottomless afternoon tea which includes two hours of bottomless cocktail teapots, bottomless Prosecco and a selection of sandwiches, sweets, popcorn and biscuits.

Simmons is London’s largest independently-owned bar chain and was set up by Nick Campbell in 2013. The bars all have a retro feel with old-school games consoles, wallpaper you’d find in your grandmas’ front room and delicious cocktails. Simmons Monument will have the full Simmons kitsch, vibrant treatment.
