Fast-casual operator, German Doner Kebab (GDK) has revealed plans to open 40 outlets across Ireland in 2020, according to the Irish Independent.
The first GDK in Ireland is to open in Dublin by June next year in an “iconic location” still subject to negotiations, followed by Belfast, then a roll out across other cities and major towns.
The Irish site will offer the brand's beef and chicken fillets, which are imported directly from Germany to maintain quality and consistency. They will use fresh, locally produced vegetables that are delivered and prepared daily, along with its special 'Doner Kebab' bread.
Th Glasgow-based company has rolled out sites across the UK, Sweden and the Gulf states of Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. The brand launched in Berlin in 1989, but there are currently no GDK sites in Germany.
The latest branch launched in Edinburgh on Friday, which will be followed by openings in Batley, Blackburn, Bromley, Newcastle, Oldham, and Watford. Sites in Aberdeen and London's Bethnal Green will follow these sites.
