Honest customers set to donate thousands to charity from burger kits

Honest Burgers released 250 limited edition ‘Honest at Home’ kits from 11am today – where all proceeds go to three charities especially in need at this time, and has already sold out. A further 50 kits will be released for sale tomorrow.

Each kit is a reusable Honest tote bag packed with everything customers need to make four Honest burgers at home; 4 x chopped British chuck steak and rib cap patties, 4 x British cheddar slices, Honest’s homemade red onion relish and pickles, 4 x Turner & George smoked bacon rashers, and 4 x Honest burger buns.

This initiative is entirely not for profit, and Honest are asking customers for an ‘honesty box’ donation for the kits (which are worth around £35) and hope people will give as generously as possible - every penny will go direct to these three charities:
www.trusselltrust.org – a nationwide network of food banks for vulnerable people
www.hospitalityaction.org.uk – financial and emotional support for hard hit hospitality workers
https://landworkersalliance.org.uk – to provide safety gear for farmers to get back into production.

Honest have partnered with friends and butcher's Turner & George who are generously supporting the initiative by covering delivery to customers – with no charge. The kits are available in Greater London postcodes and will be delivered to customers between 21-25 April only.

This initiative follows Honest’s effort to support frontline workers since the virus outbreak, including making best use of the leftover food in each of their restaurants by delivering burgers and chips for nearby hospital teams, local charities and foodbanks, and using all the fresh ingredients on hand in their central Honest kitchen to create, from scratch, around 4,000 Honest ready meals (Wild garlic pesto lasagne, Honest beef cottage pie and Bolognese).

These were packed, labelled up and handed over to the brilliant City Harvest who are a London based charity that distribute food to those in greatest need.
