Pret launches Xmas menu with first time delivery option

Pret A Manger has today launched its Christmas Menu, which for the first time will be available for delivery, as well as takeaway. Pret and Veggie Pret shops will remain open during lockdown for takeaway and delivery, in line with official government guidance.

This year, Pret’s iconic Christmas menu will also include its first ever Christmas hot food range. Veggie Pret will be launching two exclusive new vegan recipes, the Vegan Christmas Lunch Baguette and the Vegan Christmas Lunch Hot Roll, available exclusively in Veggie Pret shops or via delivery.

Rounding out the Christmas menu is Pret’s most indulgent festive hot drinks range, served in exclusive Christmas cups.

Alongside the return of its iconic staples, Pret is unveiling its first ever hot Christmas range of Pigs in Blankets, Lincolnshire sausages wrapped in streaky bacon served in a pot, or in a hot crusty roll with a layer of caramelised onion chutney and finished with a dab of mustard mayo.

Pret’s freshly-made Christmas Lunch, craved by customers all year round (with many tweeting for its return as early as February!), will make a welcome return, combining thick slices of British turkey with port & orange cranberry sauce, herby pork stuffing and baby spinach leaves, topped off with free-range mayo and crispy onions.

This year’s meat-free offering will include a brand-new Vegan Christmas Nut Roast, featuring butternut squash, peppery rocket and Christmas pesto, served with a spoonful of vegan sage mayo, crispy onions and caramelised pecans.

For those looking for a sweet treat, the Christmas Tiffin and Melvin, Pret's Melting Gingerbread Snowman, will return alongside Pret’s Mince Pie which will be an exclusively vegan product this year, and available for 99p with any takeaway hot drink. Joining the Pret Christmas menu this year is the Veggie Pret favourite, the Vegan Hazelnut & Caramel Brownie. Available for the first time at both Pret and Veggie Pret shops and via delivery, vegans and non-vegans can rejoice.

Meanwhile, Pret’s Christmas hot drinks return, served in limited edition Christmas takeaway cups. Making up the most indulgent menu yet are three brand new drinks – the Gingerbread Latte, the Salted Caramel Latte and the S'mores Hot Chocolate, an indulgent hot chocolate including biscuit syrup, topped with whipped cream, a sprinkling of dark chocolate curls and our favourite Christmas mascot, Melvin, the marshmallow head.

All drinks will be available using Pret’s YourBarista coffee subscription service which allows customers to buy up to five barista-prepared drinks a day for just £20 a month.

Pret has expanded the number of shops offering delivery during this time so more people will be able to enjoy their favourites at home. Customers can also order Pret’s food via third-party delivery partners Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats. For the first three weeks of the launch, Pret’s Christmas Lunch can be ordered exclusively on Deliveroo.

Briony Raven, UK Food & Coffee Director at Pret said, “As it continues to be a challenging year, we’re more excited than ever to launch our Christmas menu, which we hope will bring joy to our customers.

'Not only are we bringing back our much loved iconic items, like our Christmas Lunch and Christmas Tiffin, but we’ve worked hard to add some extra indulgence to spread joy in a way that only Pret can, with pigs in blankets, three new vegan items and a S’mores hot chocolate, topped with Melvin, our marshmallow Christmas mascot.

“And to make sure our customers can enjoy their favourite tastes of Christmas, wherever they are during lockdown, our food menu will be available via all our delivery partners for the first time.”

50p from the sale of each special Christmas sandwich will be donated to the Pret Foundation, which supports grassroots charities in communities local to Pret shops. It comes as Pret celebrates 25 years of the Pret Foundation, set up by Pret’s founders with the singular goal to break the cycle of homelessness. The Pret Foundation's very own fleet of charity vans collect and deliver food every night to over 100 hostels and charities supporting homeless people across London. Over the last 25 years, the Pret Foundation has donated 35 million food items to 126 charities up and down the UK.

The delicious festive range will be available for takeaway at Pret and Veggie Pret shops from 10am today until the end of December, and for the first time, your favourite Christmas food items can be ordered straight to your door via delivery.
