New manager for Glencoe hotel


Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels has welcomed a new hotel manager to take the helm of Ballachulish Hotel in Glencoe, a village in western Scotland.

Tracey Smith brings 26 years’ of experience to the senior role. She started out in hospitality at Turnberry Hotel in 1996 and has held a variety of roles including reservations, event management, group sales and field sales account director.

She has worked for luxury hotel groups including Starwood Hotels and Resorts as well as independent venues such as Ackergill Tower and Carlowrie Castle, and visitor attractions in the whisky sector.

More recently, she was General Manager at the Old Manse of Blair and Knockinaam Lodge and latterly Board Member of SITE Scotland (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence) and Business Development Manager at Woodlands Glencoe.

Tracey said: “I am delighted to join Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels and lead the team at Ballachulish Hotel.

“I look forward to having the opportunity to showcase our stunning location, history and warm friendly Scottish hospitality as well as inspire our guests with our locally sourced food offering at our Fish restaurant and above all, create a memorable experience for our guests.
“I love living in Glencoe and enjoy the beautiful walks with my dog Bear, as well as a bit of wild swimming in the summer.”

The four-star hotel, which dates back to 1877, had an extensive refurbishment of the 53 bedrooms and facilities of the hotel including restaurants last year, to ensure guests can enjoy a memorable break in the Highlands.
