Chef Peppe Belvedere set to fire up pizza ovens at Berberè

This March, Berberè, the much-loved pizzeria chain with two London sites and 15 in Italy, is to welcome ex-Bright Head Chef Giuseppe ‘Peppe’ Belvedere to develop a special pizza at the brand's Kentish Town restaurant.

Joining Berberè’s founders, Calabrian brothers Matteo pictured (right) and Salvatore (left) Aloe, the trio will come together to create the ultimate pizza. Peppe brings with him experience from cooking at esteemed London restaurants Brawn, P.Franco and most recently, Bright, to create his own one-off menu to sit alongside Berberè’s award winning pizzas.

Peppe will introduce 'Peppe’s Pizza', with seasoned minced lamb, tomato and onion and finishing it with a generous grating of Pecorino Sardo Maturo D.O.P, fennel pollen and a drizzle of chilli oil upon Berberè’s signature dough.

This limited edition pizza will be available from Friday 17 March until 30 April, with a percentage of proceeds made going to Ahbap in support of the ongoing crisis in Turkey following the earthquake.

Berberè Pizzeria is widely recognised and celebrated as one of the world’s best pizzerias having recently been awarded an illustrious top rating by Gambero Rosso, the global authority on Italian food and wine and 4th place at the 50 Top Pizza World 2023.

Following the brand's successsful launch in Clapham Common. the Kentish Town pizzeria opened in November 2022. The Times’ renowned restaurant critic Giles Coren has said that the North London site is “just great, cheap food in a fun room, served by people who look like they are enjoying life.”

Matteo shared, “It’s such a joy to welcome our great friend Peppe to come and fire up our pizza ovens here in Kentish Town.

'We wanted to collaborate with someone who shares our passion for great, honest Italian food but would bring their own unique perspective and love of ingredients - making a pizza like no other!”
