Beerhouses snaps up sixth pub

Dewsbury-based Beerhouses has acquired the Symposium pub in Bradford from Market Town Taverns, taking its total chain to six sites.

Symposium, which will be renamed by Beerhouses, was opened in early 2001 and subsequently refurbished by Market Town Taverns (MTT).

Managing director of Market Town Taverns, Louise Middlemass, said, “Symposium has been a valued part of the MTT family and so we have taken our time to ensure this much-loved bar is going to an operator which is credible, will invest in the business and enhance the offer to local customers. In Beerhouses, we think we have found the perfect new owner.”

Sarah Barnes, director of Beerhouses, said, “We are looking forward to taking on this exciting new venture and are delighted to add Symposium into our Beerhouses family. We look forward to welcoming customers old and new once we re-open. We also wish MTT all the very best with all their future ventures.”
