Revamped NW London inn opens today

Opening today on Harrow Road, Kensal Green, North West London, William IV is a Victorian pub with 15 bedrooms, serving well executed British food and locally produced beers.

Independently owned, the pub and guesthouse has reopened following an extensive refurbishment, designed to reinvigorate the local favourite, and reinstate it as a local gem serving quality food and drink.

The pub offers all day dining across a series of classical dining rooms. The ground floor comprises of four separate spaces (accommodating up to 112 seated): the main bar and dining room, the private bar, and a small bar at the rear, which lends itself perfectly for events and parties.

A spacious garden and Summer House will launch in Spring 2019. The upper floors house 15 guestrooms, set to open in January 2019.

Established in 1837, the site is named after the reigning monarch at the time, and enjoys historical features such as wood burning fireplaces, arched doorways, stained-glass windows and the original white marble bar which stretches across several rooms. Furniture is sourced from local areas such as Golborne Road, including the centrepiece King’s Table (a nod to the eponymous Sailor King).

Open daily for lunch and dinner, the kitchen brigade have introduced menus focusing on British pub favourites, using local suppliers where possible. The menu features classic comfort food items such as Beer Battered Cod and Triple Cooked Chips, and a signature Slow Roasted Shoulder of Lamb with Potato, Roasted Onions, Buttered Baby Carrots and Thyme Jus. On Sundays, a traditional roast menu, as well as a vegan roast, is on offer all day.

Drinks include beers and lagers on tap, along with a concise selection of spirits and a carefully curated wine list, complemented by a bar food menu. An impressive selection of non-alcoholic beers is also on offer.

William IV is owned by local entrepreneur Jean-Marin Bolot, who has experience working previously in property and hospitality in the UK and France. Menus were created by Head Chef Marek Rudnik, together with Consultant Chef Sebastien Lambot (The Chapel Marylebone, MasterChef The Professionals), who is also a local. Front of House is overseen by Alex Wyatt (The Cutty Sark Greenwich, The Avenue St James, The Wavendon Arms).
