Town Hall Hotel to become home to Da Terra

The Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green is where Da Terra, a new restaurant, will open on 23 January, taking the place of Lee Westcott restaurant The Typing Room, which was closed last summer.

Da Terra will offer a seasonal menu of modern Latin American dishes with an Italian influence, created by the two chefs in charge, Rafael Cagali and Paulo Airaudo. There will also be a nine-course tasting menu.

Both chefs worked at The Fat Duck, before Cagali cooked up a storm at Simon Rogan's Fera and then Aulis, and Airaudo went on to work at Michelin-starred restaurant Amelia, San Sebastian.

Situated on the ground floor of the award-winning hotel, the restaurant's prominent feature is the granite fronted open kitchen, where the dishes are expertly plated, injecting a true sense of culinary theatre into the dining experience.

Blenheim Design's brief was to encapsulate the roots and provenance of Cagali’s and Airaudo's lives into the interior of the restaurant and bar; creating a refined dining destination.
