Michelin-starred Angler partners with Cambridge Distillery for summer bar

Michelin-starred Angler in London's EC2 has launched summer bar on its rooftop terrace in collaboration with international award-winning gin producer, Cambridge Distillery, which will run until the end of August.

This quintessentially British terrace brings Cambridge countryside charm to the city, offering refreshing gin cocktails amidst a haven of overflowing, blooming summer flowers and foliage.

Founded in 2012 by husband and wife team, William and Lucy Lowe, Cambridge Distillery started out with the couple creating a laboratory in their living room. Inspired by walks through the meadows surrounding Cambridge, particularly within Grantchester, the gins seek to capture the taste of the English seasons and use fresh botanicals grown in and around the distillery.

Serving a limited-edition menu with Cambridge Distillery, Angler is honouring the botanicals of a summer found within the Cambridge meadows. Alongside the signature Cambridge Dry Gin & Tonic served with Fever Tree Indian Tonic and fresh mint, the cocktail list includes innovative serves such as Thyme & Sage Sour made with Cambridge Dry Gin, thyme, sage, lime, Green Chartreuse and egg white, and the Cambridge Collins, a moreish concoction of Cambridge Dry Gin, Kamm & Sons, ginger-ale, Aperol and blackcurrant.

Angler’s Executive Chef, Gary Foulkes, has curated a bespoke menu of nostalgic English bar snacks designed to pair perfectly with the refreshing, gin-based drinks. These include Cuttlefish fritters with chip shop curry sauce and Crispy pork brawn with Gentleman’s relish.

For those wishing to learn a little more about the history behind Cambridge Distillery, a series of Tastings on the Terrace will be held on Saturday 29 June, Saturday 27 July and Saturday 31 August from 3-4pm.

Angler’s sun-drenched, 7th floor terrace has been dressed in blooming flowers to match the blossoming botanicals of the Cambridge Distillery gin, bringing an English meadow to the heart of the London and creating a picturesque haven for city-dwellers to escape to the country all summer long.
