Jockey Club Catering exec head chef clinches top award

Lee Miller, Regional Executive Head Chef for Jockey Club Catering North West, was awarded ‘Chef of the Year’ at this year’s Sports and Leisure Catering Awards.

Miller (pictured right with Jill Sayles, Editor at SLC Magazine) was credited for his commitment to the role including looking after three racecourses and leading a team of over 250 chefs catering around 34,000 guests annually as well as his 25 years of service within the foodservice industry.

The judges particularly celebrated Miller’s menu innovation as well as his ability to go above and beyond his day-to-role where he has led several community based cooking projects in the local area.

Miller commented, “I’m very proud to have won such a prestigious industry award, one which is testament to the high standards we strive for at Jockey Club Cater. I could not have won this award without the help and support of my team who I’m very lucky to work with in the kitchen day to day.”

The Sports and Leisure Catering Awards took place at 30 Euston Square, London and recognises those making an outstanding contribution within Sports & Leisure catering across the UK.
