IET Venues invests £730k in tech upgrades

IET Venues has completed £730k in AV and technology upgrades to its two conference and events venues in London and Birmingham, as part of its continued investment in providing state-of-the-art facilities.

IET Birmingham: Austin Court has received over £450K of redevelopments including upgrades to the 150 seated capacity Kingston Lecture Theatre.

The investment has seen the Kingston Lecture Theatre transform into a flexible live event space with an improved AV and tech offering.

A new state-of-the art sound system offers an enriched audio experience perfect for award ceremonies. Two new HD projection walls will further enhance future events by allowing presentations, such as lectures or training sessions, to be displayed in an ultra-wide format.

Additionally, newly installed LED coloured lighting allows for increased branding capabilities making the room suited to events such as product launches.

As one of the UK’s leading event venues, IET London: Savoy Place’s Riverside Room has undergone over £280K of investments, adding to its existing high quality AV and further transforming the versatile event space, which has a 180 cabaret capacity, into one of London’s leading locations for award dinners, banquets and conferences.

New cameras have been installed allowing presenters to be filmed from any angle and live relayed onto two new video walls and two additional LED screens ensuring full delegate visibility.

Newly installed cutting-edge video mapping software can now also be used to compose and manage multiple content across the screens and enhancements to the audio system allows for multiple mapping of the sound to different zones within the building, including on the roof terrace which overlooks the River Thames.

The upgrades will have endless benefits to delegates and event organisers alike and the new technology will significantly reduce set-up times and costs.

Sean Spencer, Head of IET Venues and Facilities, said, “We receive a tremendous amount of positive feedback from our clients regarding the AV and the AV team, however it is important to us that we continue to provide the latest cutting edge technology and AV systems to remain as one of the leading STEM conference and events facilities in London and Birmingham.

'We are confident the new upgrades will enable our clients, especially repeat clients, to maximise the impact of their digital content and we are extremely proud of the investments we have made.”
