Lancs coastal pub reopens after £250k refurb

The Duke of Rothesay, situated in the coastal village of Heysham in Lancashire, has reopened following a £250kinvestment by independent pub operators, Punch, with new publicans, Kevin and Angela Lavin at the helm.

This well-established community pub is close to the Port of Heysham and is popular with residents and visitors to the area. Following the refurbishment, the pub has improved facilities with more defined lounge, entertainment and snug areas for customers to enjoy all this great pub has to offer. With new furnishings, lighting and decorations throughout, the pub has a more inviting, warm and natural feel.

The Lavin's have a wealth of experience in hospitality having owned and operated pubs, bars and restaurants in the UK and abroad for almost 20 years. They also own a popular coffee shop nearby and have a clear passion for providing an epic experience for their customers.

Speaking about the refurbishment, Kevin said, “It’s great to be here at The Duke of Rothesay, the investment has really done the pub proud. We know this area well and we can’t wait to welcome customers old and new into their new look pub. We have lots of exciting plans to bring great food, drink and a warm welcome to everyone who chooses to spend their time with us.”

The pub has launched with a new food menu which includes home cooked pub classics alongside a home cooked, all day buffet available 7 days a week. The bar offers an extensive range of quality lager, cask and craft beers as well as a wide selection of spirits and wines for customers to enjoy.

Angela added, “We have so many exciting plans for the pub including regular live entertainment, karaoke and community events for all the family.”

Punch’s Managing Director, Andy Spencer said, “This is a significant investment by Punch in a well-established pub and we are extremely pleased with the business we’ve helped create. Matching this fantastic pub with great people like Kevin and Angela who bring a wealth of experience and expertise will ensure this impressive pub continues to operate at the heart of its community.”
