Polpo enters administration

Award-winning Venetian small plates chain, Polpo has fallen into administration with the future of its two remaining London sites in question.

The company entered a CVA back in March 2019 and it shut down its Notting Hill Gate and Berwick Street outlets.

Polpo seemed to be struggling before then as it closed sites in Leeds in 2016, Exeter in 2018 and Bristol in 2019.

The fates of the Soho restaurant - the first one - and the Chelsea site now hang in the balance.

The brand was launched in 2009 by Russel Norman and Richard Beatty. Norman stepped down from his role as a director last month.
