Galvin brothers launch Michelin-starred Valentine at-home feast

Chris and Jeff Galvin, founders of Michelin-starred Galvin La Chapelle has today announced the launch of their limited-edition Valentine’s at-home feast, available through their nationwide delivery service, Galvin at Home.

With the country still in lockdown, the brothers have put together a menu to make sure this Valentine’s day can still be truly special and give people the chance to cook their loved ones a Michelin-starred meal at home.

Available to order from 26 January, the Valentine’s feast includes a decadent three-course menu featuring signature dishes from the restaurant, with the option of pairing each course with a carefully chosen selection of wine and champagne.

Launching in May last year, Galvin At Home offers recipients the chance to cook the Michelin-starred dishes for themselves in 15 minutes.

Chris and Jeff have carefully curated their weekly changing delivery menu featuring their most popular dishes with three course menus offering each diner a choice between vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

With step-by-step videos and clear instructions included with each delivery, Jeff and the team are on hand through the whole cooking process, making things easy for even the most unaccomplished home cook.

Valentine’s Day has always been special occasion at Galvin la Chapelle, with the breath-taking interiors and elegant seasonal French cuisine providing a unique setting for couples to celebrate with seven-course tasting menus. With most of us stuck at home this year, Chris, Jeff and the team have created a limited-edition Valentine’s at-home feast to bring a touch of luxury and romance to our very own dining tables.

The evening starts with a demi bottle of Taittinger Brut Prestige Rosé NV and a selection of delicate canapés including truffle arancini, smoked salmon on warm blinis and tartlets of baby beetroot with pickled walnut purée.

To follow, a starter of either terrine of ham hock, Suffolk chicken, foie gras and sauce gribiche or velouté of roast Potimarron squash with chestnuts and sage. Main dishes include roast duck magret with king cabbage, duck leg boulagère & thyme jus or a vegetarian option of black truffle and artichoke risotto.

To finish, an indulgent Valrhona chocolate fondant with caramelised white chocolate and a refreshing blood orange salad. For that extra romantic treat, a box of hand-rolled truffles awaits, the perfect end to the evening.

For those looking to complete their feast with wine, Head Sommelier, Stephen Nisbet has carefully put together a set of wines to accompany the Valentine’s feast, expertly pairing each course with a red, white and sweet wine to finish.

Chris and Jeff Galvin said, “Valentine’s Day has always been a busy one across our restaurants, and we are really going to miss the buzz and romance in the air this year. With a tricky 2020 behind us, it seems more important than ever to celebrate our loved ones. That’s why we want to bring the same atmosphere and delicious food to people at home and give everybody the chance to treat that someone special!”
