Catford Mews set to reopen cinema screens on 21 May


Really Local Group, a pioneering UK high-street regeneration developer and operator, has announced the reopening plans and new programming for Catford Mews, Lewisham’s leading independent entertainment hotspot.

To celebrate the hotly anticipated comeback of cinemas across the UK, Catford Mews will be reopening its cinema screens on Friday 21 May and offering a ‘Welcome Back’ deal . To mark the return of the big-screen experience, cinema-goers can enjoy tickets and a small popcorn for just £7.50 on the opening weekend between Friday 21 – Sunday 23 May.

The screening programme is as follows:
W/c 21 May: Peter Rabbit 2, Nomadland, Judas and the Black Messiah, The Sound of Metal, Poly Styrene: I Am a Cliché, Wonder Woman 1984.
w/c 28 May: Cruella, Peter Rabbit 2, Ammonite, Surge, First Cow, Sister With Transistors
W/c 4 June: A Quiet Place 2, Scoob!, Minari, After Love, Ahead of The Curve

Visitors will also be able to enjoy the variety of food vendors to pick up a quick street food bite to take away, or indoors in groups of up to six or two households, from 17 May.

Fan favourites such as Twerk’n’Jerk, Two Dogs Down and Fuse will now be joined by the latest vendor, Southeast London’s My Kibris Kitchen, who will be serving up delicious homemade Turkish Cypriot cakes and pastries.

The onsite cafe, Compound Coffee will have baked goods fresh daily available everyday, including bread, pastries, cakes and sandwiches.

Looking ahead to the summer, Catford Mews also has an exciting events programme up their sleeves to reunite the local community. This will include hosting renowned international festival of short films, London Short Film Festival, for the first time in South East London on 25, 27 & 28 June. Also, the venue’s popular Comedy Club will be back from 1 July.

Catford Mews will ensure the health and safety of all customers by observing all necessary measures and government guidelines, indoor socialising is acceptable when observing the rule of six or two households, as well as mandatory masks, signing in, following a one-way system, maintaining social distancing and a reduced capacity in the cinemas’ dining facilities.

From establishing a successful template for social impact established in Catford Mews has set Really Local Group as the leading trailblazer in high-street regeneration and led to an influx of developers and local councils approaching them to help reinvigorate and renew underserved areas across the UK.
