Midcounties Co-op opens latest store in South Gloucestershire

A brand-new Your Co-op Food store has just opened its doors on Badger Road in Thornbury, a market town in South Gloucestershire.

The convenience store has created 15 jobs for the local area and will offer essential grocery items, from fruit and vegetables and fresh meat to a range of wines, spirits and chilled beers.

It will also be home to an in-store bakery, an ATM, Costa Express coffee machine, National Lottery terminals and a food-to-go range.

Your Co-op is part of The Midcounties Co-operative, which is one of the largest independent UK co-operatives and is fully owned by its members. Customers at the new store will have the option of becoming a member of the Society, giving them access to exclusive member-only deals as well as special offers from across the Your Co-op group of businesses.

Members also have a say in how the Society is run, including the work it does to support local communities in partnership with local volunteers and community groups.

The new store is one of seven opened by The Midcounties Co-operative this year as part of its ongoing investment in food retail which saw a total of £3.5m invested by the Society in 2021. This includes the Bishop’s Cleeve, Bream Lydney and Lydney petrol station stores which opened in the Gloucestershire area earlier this year.

Amy Bonsor, store manager, said, “We’re so excited to be opening the doors of our brand-new convenience store and can’t wait to meet the local community. We’re really looking forward to welcoming members and customers and I’m sure they’ll be impressed with the wide range of products and services we have on offer.”

The stores’ opening hours will be 7am to 10pm every day throughout the week.
