Pappy’s launches an authentic Texas BBQ at-home meal kit

Authentic Texas BBQ smokehouse, Pappy’s has launched a limited edition at-home meal kit for home cooks to create the ultimate summer BBQ spread.

The Smokehouse Sharing Platter Kit serves up to six people and will include four varieties of slow, oak-smoked meats smoked by third-generation Texan pitmaster Robin Perris, three homemade side dishes and a selection of Pappys’ signature pickles and sauces.

The BBQ kit will bring the spirit of Texan hospitality to UK homes this summer. At-home cooks will simply need to unpack and reheat on the BBQ and oven without having to get their hands dirty!

The Smokehouse Sharing Platter Kit creates a traditional Texan BBQ feast, containing the same quality of ingredients and flavours as served across the Pappy’s Texas BBQ restaurants and takeaway.

The at-home meal kit includes tender and flavourful pulled pork, the Pappy’s signature Black Angus brisket quarter, Texas Hot Links using the Pappy’s secret in-house recipe and succulent oak-smoked chicken thighs.

The juicy meats will be accompanied by a traditional Texas slaw, Pappy’s homemade family recipe Tex-Mex spicy pinto beans, homemade creamy mac and cheese, house-pickled red onions and gherkins, and a bottle of Pappy’s exclusive Texas BBQ Sauce.

The Texan-smoked meats can be reheated via the BBQ or by the oven and the sides reheated by oven or microwave. The sharing meal kit serves up to six people and costs £115, including delivery.

The Smokehouse Sharing Platter Kit has been put together by Pappy’s Texas BBQ owner and third-generation pitmaster, Robin Perris. Heralding from Texan BBQ-belt town Taylor and born into a family of fierce barbeque enthusiasts, she grew up surrounded by smoke pits, BBQ competitions and rodeo shows.

Using a custom-built Texas smoker in the likeness of her father ‘Pappy’s’ commercial pit in a nineteenth-century Cumbrian smokehouse, Robin lovingly and slowly oak-smokes locally sourced meats and authentic Black Angus brisket by hand which fills the meal kit.

The Smokehouse Sharing Platter Kit serves up to six people, includes a reusable thermal bag and costs £115, including UK-wide delivery. The kit can be bought from Pappy’s Texas BBQ website.
