Europe's first Park Regis opening in Birmingham

Staywell Hospitality the Australian based hotel company who currently only operates hotels in Australia, has announced it will open its first European Park Regis hotel in Birmingham in March 2016.

Located in the former Auchinleck House office block on Broad Street, the new hotel will have 253 rooms, 2 junior suites and what it claims to be the largest presidential suite in Birmingham. The hotel follows a £50m renovation project by Seven Capital and Colmore Tang Construction.

In addition, the four star hotel will have two restaurants (à la carte and pan-Asian-fusion), a Saki bar, business lounge, meeting rooms, spa and gym.

Simon Wan, chief executive of StayWell Hospitality Group, said that the new hotel marks “a strategic move” for Park Regis in opening hotels within cities which present optimum growth opportunities.

“While the number of hotel beds in Birmingham has increased rapidly in recent years, the number of upscale hotels hasn’t kept the same pace,” he said. “Once opened, Park Regis will fill this gap in Birmingham’s high-end hotel offering.”
