JJ Foodservice helps Wembley school save £4.5k with click & collect

National wholesaler JJ Foodservice has helped Wembley-based primary school, Oakington Manor, to make huge cost savings with its click and collect service.

Facilities Manager at Oakington Manor, Cyril Copitch, started using JJ Foodservice following an annual review of costs. “I decided to look at companies which were not well known to schools, to see whether they could supply us, without sacrificing quality or service”, he said.

“We are particularly keen on their (JJ’s) technology, which makes ordering fast, simple and transparent regarding pricing.” Invoices are processed after goods have been checked. If a product is no longer needed, drivers can adjust the information on their electronic devices. “This is saving us time and money as we don’t have to deal with credit notes”, added Cyril.

To capitalise on JJ’s collection prices, Copitch picked an order up in-store. “On arrival, all our goods were ready and we were assisted to load them onto our vehicle. This process took 15 minutes.”

On returning to the school, Copitch did a cost analysis and found that the school made a further saving of £150 after costs. He now uses the service once a fortnight. “Running this service in tandem with delivering is saving the school approximately £4500 per financial year,” he said.

Instant access to nutritional information and allergy advice via the JJ website has also been a big selling point. “It allows us to make informed decisions quickly about the products we may wish to purchase. They also stock a wide range of products suitable for various religious requirements.

“We look forward to continuing and developing our relationship with JJ Foodservice into the foreseeable future and have no hesitation in recommending their products and services,” Copitch added.
