Deliveroo tops Deloitte UK Fast 50 awards with 15,749% growth over four years

Deliveroo, the leading food-delivery platform, has come first place in Deloitte’s prestigious UK Fast 50 awards achieving revenue growth of 15,749% over the last four years. The UK Fast 50 is one of the UK's leading technology awards which ‘recognises the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the UK’.

This is the second year that Deliveroo has won the award and it is the first time in the awards 21 year history that a company has topped the list two years running. Deliveroo's second year at the top of the ranking “proves that it is capable of sustaining its steep growth trajectory” according to Deloitte.

In the UK alone, consumers spend £9.9bn on takeaways each year, according to the Takeaway Economy Report compiled by The Centre for Economics and Business Research. This figure is forecast to hit £11.2bn by 2021.

Dan Warne, Managing Director for Deliveroo UK and Ireland, said, “Deliveroo is proud of how far we have come in five years and our position as a British tech success. Growing a company so quickly presents a wide range of challenges, but the potential for growth in the food delivery market only gets bigger with every passing day.

'Our fast-paced growth highlights the importance of strategy and the continued dedication of our staff in delivering for our riders, restaurants and customer . Companies must always be thinking about new ways to operate and innovate which is why we have expanded into delivery only kitchens through Deliveroo Editions, led the way in the new concept of virtual brands and ensured our corporate offering through Deliveroo for Business is second to none.

“The UK tech start-up environment is growing ever more competitive, and we are proud to have been recognised within the Deloitte UK Fast 50 for the second year in a row, amongst a host of talented and ambitious companies.”
