Mission Mars snaps up 12th site in Liverpool city centre

Mission Mars has acquired the lease of The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen in Liverpool city centre through Christie & Co, off an asking price of £750k.

The restaurant occupies the ground and lower ground floors of the Grade II-listed Casartelli Building in a prominent position at the junction of Duke Street and Hanover Street, ideally situated to benefit from passing trade from the nearby Liverpool ONE shopping centre and Albert Dock.

The 280.5 sq m trading area is set across the ground floor and provides seating for 170 covers. It is decorated throughout in a gastropub-style, with Cardean timber flooring, and benefits from a light and airy atmosphere thanks to the large full-height windows.

Previous owner, Mark Friend, Owner of Bistro Qui? Limited, sought to sell the business as part of a portfolio rationalisation and said, “We wish the new owners every success with The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen and we are sure they can take this site to a new level that will please the existing team and the clientele alike. We would like to thank Christie & Co for making the sale a smooth and pleasurable experience.”

Mission Mars owns and operates live music venues, bars, pubs and restaurants throughout Manchester and Liverpool, with The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen marking its twelfth venue overall and the second within the city of Liverpool.

Tom O’Malley, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co who handled the sale, commented, “We’re delighted to have brokered an agreement with Mission Mars and we’re confident that the business will prove to be a successful addition to their growing portfolio.

'This deal stands as testament to the demand for high quality bars and restaurants in key city centres throughout the North West, as well as to the appetite of both regional and national purchasers.”
