OYO launches in Wales

The world’s fastest growing hotel chain, OYO has launched its budget brand in Wales after entering into partnerships with two independent hotels in the country.

With OYO Whitehouse Hotel in Llandudno and OYO Pier Hotel in Rhyl on board, OYO is now looking for further investment opportunities in Wales.

Jeremy Sanders, Head of OYO UK, said, “We’re excited to have arrived in Wales - we see a huge opportunity here.

'Wales is becoming an increasingly popular staycation destination for British holidaymakers, and with its beautiful natural attractions and city break offerings, it’s easy to see why people are visiting the country.

“We look forward to partnering with more independent hoteliers in Wales, and in turn, helping them capitalise on their potential so they, and the communities they operate in, thrive.”

Founded by Ritesh Agarwal in 2013 in India, OYO has received funding from Japanese conglomerate Softbank as well as Airbnb. In April, the firm secured a 'strategic investment' from Airbnb, reportedly valued at $100m.
