Wilson Vale takes home gold from council awards

Wilson Vale’s catering team at Givaudan UK Ltd in Chippenham Drive, Milton Keynes has been awarded Gold by Milton Keynes Council’s Eat Out Eat Well Awards.

The Eat Out Eat Well Awards reward caterers, businesses and educational settings who make it easier for their consumers to make healthy choices when eating out. The award recognises provision of healthy food and drinks and encourages the promotion of these healthy options.

The level of award is based on a scoring system that takes into account the type of food on offer, cooking methods, and how the meals are promoted to customers. The scheme benefits both caterers by promoting their businesses and consumers by helping them to make healthier eating choices.

The catering operation scored the highest marks in the awards programme so far, picking up 135 points out of 138.

Catering for 50 to 60 people each day at the busy site, the emphasis is on fresh, seasonal and hand-made food.

Ryan Lewis, Wilson Vale chef manger, (pictured) said, “We make everything in-house, including our speciality breads, cakes, yoghurts, granolas, seasonal salads and hot dishes.

'As workplace caters, we have a responsibility to ensure that the food we provide is nutritious, natural and balanced to sustain people during their working day.

“We are a small team with high standards so we are delighted to have been recognised in this way.”
