Compass partners with Pride London for weekend celebrations

This weekend (Saturday 6 July) the capital comes together to celebrate Pride in London Jubilee, marking 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising in New York. Standing in unison will be Compass Group UK & Ireland and its event caterer business, Payne & Gunter, who are proud to cater for this milestone occasion.

Compass and Payne & Gunter have been working closely with organisers of Pride in London and will provide catering to the many performing artists this year, at what is planned to be the biggest and most diverse & inclusive celebration – The Pride in London Jubilee – 50 Years of Queer Revolt.

This is the second year Compass has partnered with Pride in London and to acknowledge the variety and impact of performers they have developed a colourful Pride Jubilee inspired menu.

Payne & Gunter will be joining the celebrations onsite to cater in the VIP hospitality lounge, as well as the backstage sanctuary for the performing artists including Billy Porter, Becky Hill and Saara Aalto.

The VIP hospitality lounge will see around 700 guests including activists, community leaders and key stakeholders using the facility throughout the day and offers all-day dining from Payne & Gunter’s specially created Pride Jubilee menu featuring a colourful selection, including lunchtime salad pots and dessert shots with ‘rainbow’ posset, as well as doughnuts. Afternoon bites will keep energy and mood levels high into the evening with antipasti skewers in Pride Jubilee colours and rainbow inspired cupcakes and brownies.

Charles Brown, Transformation Director and UK Executive Team Member at Compass Group UK & Ireland, commented, “We thoroughly enjoyed last year’s Pride in London and were thrilled to be able to offer our support again this year, especially for their anniversary celebration.

'Compass is passionate about creating an inclusive workforce for all our people where everyone feels they are able to be their true selves at work. We have an ongoing partnership with Pride in London and cannot wait to contribute at what looks set to be the biggest and most diverse Pride this year.”

Bethan James, Operations Director from Payne & Gunter, added, “Having a diverse workforce, in any capacity enables us to deliver more for clients and our guests. Being an honest and open business has benefited us greatly at all the events we cater at – from the opera to Pride – we thrive on being able to activate exciting and quirky menus and hospitality wherever we are, especially at something as important as Pride.”

Simon Jones, Director of Events from Pride in London, said, “We are grateful to Compass Group UK & Ireland, Payne & Gunter and their internal LGBT+ network for their continued support by providing hospitality to performers, community leaders, activists and key stakeholders. The challenge of providing hospitality to this event is herculean and cannot thank the team at Compass enough for their support.”
