Hawthorn Leisure rolls out Partner training programme for new publicans

Award-winning community pub company, Hawthorn Leisure has launched a new Partner training programme, designed to ensure all new publicans get the best possible training to set them up for sales success.

Partnering with LJD Innovation, the training provider run by respected hospitality sector leader Leigh Davies, Hawthorn Leisure hopes to train around 180 Partners across the first year of the ‘Seven Steps to Sales Success’ programme.

The course will coach practical marketing and business-building strategies which enhance the ability of pub Partners to grow their business, providing key advice and recommendations to help them grow sales.

Hawthorn Leisure owns more than 600 community pubs across England, Scotland and Wales, and prides itself on its energetic, people-focused culture. The company has always been committed to working with Partners and supporting them in achieving their vision.

The group has an industry-leading ratio of pubs per Business Development Manager, meaning that there are individual plans in place for each and every pub, and that each Partner has support through investment, training, and concept development.

Hawthorn Leisure managing director of operations, Mark McGinty, said, “LJD Innovation has been working with Hawthorn Leisure on a consultancy basis for the last twelve months and we are really pleased that we are now partnering with them on this long-term training platform for our partners.

“We have become the leader in pub company culture by putting our pub Partners at the heart of everything we do.

'By working together with our Partners, we help to ensure they have the tools and support they need alongside investing into our pubs to create long term, sustainable businesses, and this training programme will provide invaluable insight and learnings for our new Partners, setting them up for lasting success.”
