Whitbread to launch Bar + Block Steakhouse in Sutton

Whitbread’s contemporary steak brand, Bar + Block Steakhouse is set to open in Sutton, South London, following the successful roll-out in Wimbledon, Belfast, Bristol and Winnersh, Reading in 2019.

On 1 November, the new steak-focused all-day casual dining restaurant will open in central Sutton on St Nicholas Way, just off the High Street.

Bar + Block Sutton will be a 589sqm, 229 cover informal steakhouse serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with an emphasis on delivering high quality steaks at high-street prices. Signature dishes include rotating steak specials from the Butcher’s Block, grazing plates and handmade burgers prepared on-site using prime beef. Steak aficionados will be able to enjoy speciality cuts such as Tira De Ancho (a 12oz spiral cut ribeye), and chargrilled 10oz Argentine Picanha (served with chimichurri sauce and a jacket potato topped with garlic, lemon and chive mayo).

An extensive drinks range will be on offer to be enjoyed at your table or the bar, with a focus on craft beers, specially curated wines and innovative cocktails with seasonal specials. Signature cocktails include Rhubarb Gin Fizz and an indulgent Candyfloss Martini (candyfloss topped with Smirnoff Vodka and White Zinfandel Rosé, shaken with cranberry and lime).

The modern interior design will feature an expansive bar with copper detailing, butcher’s table and an open kitchen, complemented by rustic reclaimed wood, high quality fabrics, comfy booth seating and warm lighting. Decorative finishing touches include the brand’s signature neon cow, alongside a number of contemporary artwork pieces.
