BaxterStorey recognises outstanding talent in fourth year event


It was a night full of loud cheers and elation as Baxterstorey celebrated the talented teams and individuals who go above and beyond for the business.

Now in it’s fourth year, the glitzy black-tie awards held at 116 Pall Mall in London recognises individuals, from talented chefs and front of house stars, to dedicated kitchen porters and health and safety champions.

Award categories included Chef Manager of the Year, Rising Star, Kitchen Porter of the Year and Team of the Year. ASOS were delighted to take home the Team of the Year Award for their enthusiasm to embrace new trends, including DIY doughnut pop-ups and the introduction of a click and collect coffee app for customers to order from their desks.

Lamin Bojang was awarded Kitchen Porter of the Year, for continually going above and beyond his KP duties. The true definition of an unsung hero, Bojang as been the backbone of the Addleshaw Goddard team for 11 years.

General manager Lily Bell was recognised as Rising Star to a standing ovation. Two years into her career and responsible for a team of 35, Bell was recognised for her incredible business drive and recent launch of a 24-hour in-house food delivery service.

Committed to her team’s development, Orla O’Donoghue took home the Manager of the Year Award and the Innovation Award was awarded to street food agency FUEL for bringing innovation to the heart of our client businesses.

With his enthusiasm for the industry both infectious and inspiring, Scott Dineen was awarded Chef of the Year alongside our Front of House Star Johnny Dulhan. A true advocate for driving safety performance and awareness, not just at his location but across the wider business in Scotland, David McVey was awarded this year’s Health and Safety Champion.

Chef manager Chris Tanton was delighted to be named Chef Manager of the Year, recognised for his confidence in the kitchen and investment in regular team training. A true inspiration with a passion for giving awareness talks inspiring young adults with Downs Syndrome, Sam Ross was presented with the Community Award to a standing ovation.

The Awards concluded with Rik Razza, head of chef development, being announced as winner of our prestigious BaxterStorey Award. The award identifies an outstanding individual who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to improving the business and wider industry. Razza has been instrumental in the development of the Chef Academy, being flexible enough to take it on the road and successfully launching it in Scotland.

Razza said, “Thank you all so much. It has been an incredible journey and I have loved every minute of it. I have always said I love this business and BaxterStorey has given me the best platform to work on. I have a great team that I work with every day and without them I would not be stood up here today.
