McDonald’s reopens 39 sites

McDonald's has just reopened Drive-thru lanes at 39 of its eateries. In the UK, 23 are open for Drive-thru only, 10 are open for Drive-thru and McDelivery, plus an additional 5 restaurants are operating McDelivery only. There are also 6 Drive-thrus open in Dublin.

The sites have reopened with smaller teams, and are offering a limited menu, opening from 11am to 10pm.

There's a capped spend in Drive-Thrus at £25 per car and customers are encouraged to pay by contactless payment methods wherever possible.

Customers will find Perspex screens at Drive-Thru windows and employees wearing protective equipment, as well as Perspex screens and floor markings in specific areas in the restaurant and kitchen.

All McDonald’s employees have been asked to confirm they are fit and able to work, and the company is using contactless thermometers with temperatures taken on arrival at work for every shift.

Social distancing has been introduced in the kitchens and service areas to help create a safe working environment for restaurant teams.
