ACS (the Association of Convenience Stores) is calling on people working in local shops to provide their views on employment in the convenience sector as part of the 2021 Colleague Survey.
The survey asks colleagues to provide feedback on their experiences of working in the sector, looking at training and progression, working environments and wellbeing, employment contracts and life outside work, pay and the benefits of working in the convenience sector.
Now in its sixth year, the ACS Colleague Survey:
• informs ACS’ Local Shop Report and other research projects,
• feeds into discussions with the Government about the positive impact and value of local shops and the issues faced by people working in the convenience sector,
• helps members to benchmark the way they work with their colleagues, and
• frames discussions at ACS’ employment expert group and other meetings and events.
ACS chief executive James Lowman (pictured) said, “We are encouraging all convenience colleagues to make their voice heard by taking part in our Colleague Survey their views on employment in the convenience sector to help form a clear picture of what it is like to work in local shops.
“The survey provides colleagues with the opportunity to provide details on their experiences and give their views on employment in the sector which can then help to inform policymakers and give their employers a deeper understanding of how they can support their staff. The colleague survey has become an extremely important part of our work and the narrative that we have built for politicians and the media about our industry.”
The survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete. Colleagues have until the 19 February 2021 to respond and all responses will be kept strictly confidential.
All participants will be entered into a prize draw to win one of five £100 One4all vouchers with winners notified by 24 March 2021.
