Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza ventures south for first London launch

Mission Mars is opening a new Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza on 28 June on Soho's Wardour Street - its first pizzeria in the South of England following runaway success in the North.

Rudy’s will be serving up the finest authentic Neapolitan pizza in the new relaxed Soho pizzeria for dine in, delivery and takeaway.

With an incredible 10,000 pizzas to be given away, Rudy’s Soho is throwing its housewarming to welcome Londoners.

Rudy’s launched in 2015 and was named after the founder's dog. They found success through their pop-up pizza parties before opening their first site in Ancoats, known locally as Little Italy.

Building on their passion, and using only the finest ingredients, Rudy’s are purist in their Neapolitan discipline with trained and accredited Pizzaiolos at the helm of their pizza army, helping them become the most popular pizzas in their home city.

Their light and moreish base is made using Caputo ‘00’ flour, made daily on site and left to ferment for at least 24 hours, making the perfect chewy and digestible crust. San Marzano tomatoes, grown on the fields next to Mount Vesuvius, are imported for the richest tomato base and fresh Fior di Latte mozzarella comes direct from Naples to top their signature foldable pizzas cooked for only 60 seconds in the blistering stone ovens for the ultimate Neapolitan pizza.

Rudy’s Soho menu will include all the classics from their bestselling Margherita; the Tarantina - with Fior di Latte, anchovies, capers, Kalamata olives drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and the Salsiccia del Nonno – a white pizza with chilli flakes, Fior di Latte, smoked mozzarella, ground fennel sausage and caramelised onion. Alongside, Soho specials will be available changing?weekly partnering with local suppliers and partners to be announced.

Megan Bews, General Manager of Rudy’s Soho, said, ‘After heading up our original Rudy’s in Ancoats for 6 years, the countdown to firing up the oven and serving our take on delicious Neapolitan Pizza in Soho is incredibly exciting.

'We’re very much part of the furniture up North, so being able to spread a bit of Rudy’s love in London is huge. I’m so looking forward to serving you your next slice, meeting the locals, and becoming part of the Soho community – do come and say hello, neighbour!'
