New owner to turn Branston Hall Hotel into educational & events venue

Branston Hall Hotel, a renowned hotel and wedding venue located four miles from Lincoln has been sold to Avanti Foundation via Christie & Co within three months of coming to the market.

The business, which was sold off an asking price of £4m, is now set for a new chapter in its history.

Dating back to 1885, the Grade II Listed property boasts a wealth of character and has served a variety of uses – originally built as a family home, and later used as an RAF hospital during World War II. Most recently, the property had been operating as a 52-bedroom hotel.

The site encompasses approximately 72.5 acres, accessed via a private driveway, and includes the main house, extensive lawned gardens, a pagoda, lake and wooded areas, along with views across the rolling Lincolnshire countryside.

The property will now be converted to a multi-purpose educational and private events hire venue, having been acquired by Avanti Foundation, a sponsor of state-funded Hindu faith schools in the UK.

The charity group was attracted to the significant amount of land attached to the property and plan to utilise this space, as well as investing in a comprehensive refurbishment of the main house.

Gavin Webb, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co, commented, “I’m delighted to have completed on the sale of Branston Hall. We were inundated with enquiries from the outset and as a result, we were able to secure a buyer and reach completion within three months of the property coming to the market.

'Branston Hall is an iconic property in the Lincoln area and the sale emphasises the demand for good quality freehold opportunities, which continues unabated. I wish the new owners the best of luck with their new acquisition.”
