Deliveroo appoints new Global Property Director of Editions kitchens

Deliveroo has appointed David Ives as Global Property Director of its Editions kitchens. David will be responsible for growing Deliveroo’s portfolio of delivery-only kitchens, and will support the firm’s expansion in the UK and internationally.

Ives brings a wealth of experience to Deliveroo, having overseen property and real estate strategy for global brands for over a decade.

He started at Deliveroo this month and joins from the international clothing brand Primark, where he was the Head of New Markets for seven years. In this role he was responsible for all aspects of Primark’s real estate acquisitions for stores in new international markets, and managed transactions both in the UK and abroad.

Prior to this, Ives worked for Cushman & Wakefield for more than five years, in their London office, and then as Head of International Tenant Representation in the Paris office, where he advised retailers on all property matters in France.

Ives’s appointment comes as Deliveroo continues to expand its Editions offering. After pioneering the concept of delivery-only kitchens a few years ago, Deliveroo now operates 37 Editions sites worldwide, and 18 Editions sites in the UK, including eleven in London,
hosting 60 restaurant groups across the country.

The firm recently opened three new sites in Bristol, Wandsworth and Bermondsey, housing restaurants including family-favourites Shake Shack, Pho and Dishoom.

These kitchens offer Deliveroo’s restaurant partners an easy and cost-effective way of expanding their brands into new areas and reaching more customers, without having to invest in a bricks-and-mortar restaurant.

Restaurant partners can also benefit from using Deliveroo’s insights to identify prime locations to move into and the best cuisine for each area. The Editions sites vary in size but are typically around 4,000 sq ft to 10,000 sq ft.

Ives said, “I am thrilled to join Deliveroo as it looks to further expand its Editions portfolio into new markets. Competition for prime, urban locations is high, and I am looking forward to bringing forward new sites where there is strong customer demand for delivery, and expanding the choice available to our customers.”
