Bidder In Talks With United Biscuits

Further to the report in July that United Biscuits could be sold, Chinese supplier Bright Food is reportedly now in talks to buy the Jaffa Cakes and McVitie’s maker in a deal that would value the company at more than £2bn. The Shanghai-based company was established in 2006 and is partly owned by the Shanghai Municipal Government and Shanghai DaSheng Holdings Co. Its operations include farming and fisheries, food processing, wholesaling, logistics and retailing as well as real estate and taxi services.
