Indie burger restaurant to open second Devon site

Meat59, an new independent burger restaurant and bar, is set to open a second Devon site in Exeter next month, creating 10 jobs.

Meat59 has a menu dedicated to burgers such as: The Smoking Cow - 6oz hamburger patty, bourbon glaze, smoked cheese, gem lettuce, crispy onions, Meat59 smoky mayo.

Diners can also enjoy The Raging Bull - 6oz hamburger patty, roasted jalapeño cream cheese, extra hot Mexican-style chilli cheddar (made in Somerset), piquant peppers, fresh jalapeños, rocket, chipotle mayo.

The pulled pork trend continuea with The Pig Smoke - award-winning Devon pork shoulder rubbed and roasted in house for 16 hours, pulled then topped with homemade BBQ sauce and slaw

Sides include: Dirty Fries - beef chilli, cheese & jalapenos, Filthy Fries - slow roast BBQ Devon pulled pork & cheese, and Beer Battered Onion Rings.

For sweet treats, there's Devon ice cream and Double Chocolate Brownies, as well as ice cream shakes.

As well as the main burger menu, the new eatery will be serving yet-to-be-revealed brunch dishes.

Meat59 was launched in Torquay two years ago by co-owners Vince Aggett and Jenna Heasman.
